My Music
The music I am creating through Kairos Effect Music is largely focused on electronic/acoustic ambient with a therapeutic purpose. We are a society deeply in need of a retreat from grind culture and rest. So, much of the music I produce is short and long-form drone-style ambient interwoven with field recordings from nature.
This music helps regulate the listener’s nervous system, provides a sacred container for rest, relaxation and meditation. Plus, it sounds good!

How to best Support My Music
The music I produce through Kairos Effect Music is currently available from most streaming platforms and it can be found on Insight Timer as well. But here’s a thing about streaming – it doesn’t pay. Here are some real numbers for you:
Spotify (currently the most popular music streaming service) pays between .003 – .005 cents per stream. That translates to about $3-5 per 1000 plays. 87% of tracks never reach 1000 streams. To make $1000, a musician would need 250,000 streams! Only about 1% of all musicians on Spotify reach 1,000,000 streams (which would net roughly $3000-5000). As a small independent artist who produces music that is in a pretty small niche, it is unlikely that I will ever make sustainable income from online streaming services.
Look, if we’re going to change the perspective that “making art is not work” in our capitalist society, we need to be willing to pay the artist for their work. For me, the best way you can do this is by purchasing digital versions of my music (in the future I will likely offer physical versions) on Bandcamp. While Bandcamp does take a fee for hosting my music, 85% of your comes directly to me, and occasionally they even offer “Bandcamp Friday’s” where 100% of the sale of music goes to the artist.
